Our History

River Systems was established in 1996 as a training and consulting organization. The founder Russ Ziebell wanted to create an organization that helped others improve their business by utilizing the ISO 9000 standards as a management system model. Since the beginning River Systems has expanded its product and service offerings to other standards and methodologies for business improvement by itself and through other training organizations.

The courses listed on this website have been designed with a practical “hands on” approach. Students are taught through discussions and activities, the skills necessary to apply the knowledge to “real world situations”. The class materials have been designed as a ready reference book, so it can be used months after completing the training session.

These courses are being used by internationally recognized training firms and affiliates. The lead auditor training courses that we offer have been approved by the RABQSA International under the TPEC competency based scheme. If you have ever been through a training course that uses the name River Systems in case studies, you have been through a course designed by us.

The trainers of the courses are also experienced in the field they are teaching. Many have been or are lead auditors, worked for a registrar or have worked in management positions implementing the body of knowledge that is being taught. The trainers not only have to be an expert in the subject, but be able to communicate it in an understandable manner to the student. In other words, not people who just read slides. People who can explain concepts and applications.
